It just showed how little I'd changed from my masked adventuring days when I jolt awake in the middle of the night, and my first instinct was to launch myself at the unseen foe, fists flying. However, my mattress dipped as someone sat down, and I smelt liquor and heard sobs, and I opened my eyes incredulously.

"Eddie?" I asked, stunned.
