Sorted alphabetically by title #, recommended fic titles bolded##.
For each fic I've tried to provide along with the title and author name the pairing(s), rating, warnings, and a short summary if given by the author (in double quotes). I recently started adding length information (word count, or in KBs). My own comments, if there are any, follow the double slashes (//). Fics are in English, unless otherwise noted (recently added some German fics!).
Note: Since this is a rare pairing, I prefer to be inclusive rather than exclusive. Therefore, A fic only has to have *some* SS/RB content to qualify, even if it's not the main pairing, is only implied or mentioned, etc. When I know SS/RB is a main pairing/focus of the fic, I will use green font to denote it (i.e., SS/RB). In other cases, you can see another pairing listed first as primary pairing, along with an indication such as "implied SS/RB", "mention of SS/RB" etc. next to the pairing information. The fic summary + my notes should have more details.

* A Map of the Human Heart [archive link] by The Moste Potente (SS/RB, SS/DM; NC-17, warnings for dubious consent, violence/gore, darkish; long) - "Draco is given a second chance to prove himself to the Dark Lord." // I actually started reading this one but bailed out after the first few paragraphs. Not because the writing was bad, but it got way too gory for me... *shudders* [Also available here, but locked, see this post for information on how to join the community.]
* An Eternity Spent Moving in Circles by corvidae9 (SS/RL, SS/RB as secondary pairing, past SB/RL; rated R; ~5,750 words) - "How we get to where we are from where we were." // Interesting structure, it serves the theme of the fic very well, though personally I find it somewhat distracting. I also like her(?) Regulus, and this take on Snape's motivations. And what a great way to end a story.
* And Think Some More by sholmes87/solanumdulcamar (SS/RB; NC-17; 2,853 words) - "Hoses, Spades, Scarecrows... What more do you need?" // Weird, kinky PWP type of thing.
* Apologize by xmindthegapx (SS/RB; PG-13ish with warnings for angst and canon-twisting; 1,355 words).
* As Fast As He Can by summerborn (SS, RB, gen/not 'shippy, "Regulus is the 'main character' in this one, but Snape and the relationship between them both play a major role"; rated PG-13 for implied violence; 3,200 words) - "Ten scenes from Regulus Black's life over the span of ten years. When Sirius abandons him, Regulus seeks approval from another source, but he finds that the Death Eaters cannot give him what he wants."
* Backwards Down by pyreneeees (SS/RB; PG-13; 3,079 words) - "Everybody knows what happened to Regulus Black." // Fic in this calibre of quality doesn't come along every day. It transcends fanfic. Years from now, when I've moved on to another fandom (as I tend to do), or possibly out of fandom altogether, I believe I will still remember this fic and its impact on me. It's that good. ... In a series of vignettes starting with Regulus's death and going backwards to his childhood, the author explores Regulus's character and his relationships (with Snape and Sirius in particular), his awkwardness and his longing. The structure is perfect, the whole damn thing is perfect, and that last vignette? Just, wow. Don't let the two first vignettes deter you from reading the rest. It will hurt but it's worth it. * Before You Know It by stephanometra (SS/RB; rated R; WIP) - "Severus Snape sees Regulus Black for the first time at the ball Abraxas Malfoy throws for Slytherin House in honour of Lucius' last Christmas as a student at Hogwarts." // This is really good. I'm not reccing at the moment because it's a WIP, but, wow.
* Begin the Begin by Tarie/ofscarletwoman (SS/RB, SS/HP; NC-17; ~11,000 words) - "While attempting to retrieve the last Horcrux, things go terribly awry. To what lengths will Harry go to put right what went wrong?" [Also available here, but locked in light of deletegate2, access information here.]
* Betwixt Wind and Water by centaury_squill (SS/VK, prev. SS/RB; NC-17, see warnings in post; ~4,600 words) - "After the unexpected end to the Triwizard tournament, Viktor Krum and his fellow students have an eventful journey back to Durmstrang." // Not sure it should be here as haven't read. RA

* Defection by Lady Lestrange (SS/RB; PG-13, bordering on R, with a warning for "torture scenes about as intense as JKR's"; 6,873 words) - "POST HBP. SPOILERS. Severus Snape had always thought Dumbledore was a manipulating b*******, but then, he was never against a bit of manipulation. At the height of the Dark Lord’s power, and before the death of Regulus Black, Severus Snape was loyal to the Dark Lord Voldemort. He could have even tolerated the man’s brother, Sirius, for Regulus sake. He held his own with the Fabulous Four Gryfindors, although he never liked them. But now, he has reason to hate. None of my stories are fluff or based on relationships alone, however this story assumes a physical relationship between Regulus Black and Severus Snape."

* Draco Malfoy and the Summer At Grimmauld Place by Titti (DM/RW, past SS/RB; NC-17, AU; ~94KB) - "Narcissa and Draco have to hide at Grimmauld Place, but Ron thinks they are spying for Voldemort." // The SS/RB is not the central focus of the fic at all, but it's there, and it's a lovely touch. * Excerpts from the Diary of Regulus Black by pica_scribit/skjaere (SS/RB, mention of SB/RL; PG-13/light R; 1,520 words) - "A hand-written series of diary entries. Things get a bit better for Regulus before everything goes square to hell." // Associated with "Fuck Toy" and "Paper Thin Hotel". * Focus by Eclipse aka the Empress of the Eclipse (SS/RB; rated PG, possible chan warning- SS is 17, RB is 15; 2,200 words) - "Severus Snape is ordered to tutor Regulus Black in Potions. He isn't very pleased about it. But the two them grow on each other ... " // Cute bit of fluff. It didn't blow me away like some other SS/RB fics, but I think it's worth a read. I really like the idea of the fic, and Snape's rewards system ;)

He’s left school and started to train as a Healer, but it’s tiring work and his paltry trainee salary means he can’t even afford to move out of his father’s house. * Gone and Past [recently locked in light of deletegate2, you'll have to join DD to view] by wook77 (SS/RB; hard R to NC-17 with warnings for "semi-public sex, dubious consent"; ~3,000 words) - "The past can be easily forgotten. Regulus doesn't want that. Fest prompt: Severus/Regulus semi-public sex either at a DE meeting or at a Malfoy Party."
* How Not to Shut Up Severus Snape by esmestrella (SS/SB with implied SS/RB; NC-17; 6,731 words) - "Almost a year after leaving school, Sirius sneaks back into 12 Grimmauld Place to get some things he left behind. He meets someone he did not expect, who says some things he did not expect, and then does some things he really did not expect." RA

Two opposite men are brought together." // I read this a long time ago and I remember liking it a lot. Deliciously long, Severus being so difficult, the weird relationship developing, quite unusual. * Know Your Place by lifeinfiction/Linfic (SS/RB; NC-17 with warnings for "breath play, D/s themes, non-con, and of course slash"; ~2,110 words) - "Spoiled little Regulus Black never really knew what it was he was getting into when he joined the Death Eaters. Leave it to a rather jaded Severus to explain to him how things work." // Fucked up but intriguing dynamic there. Definitely worth a read, though I hesitate to rec because of the themes (not really my thing).
* Leaky Faucets and Lavatory Doors by bewarethesmirk (SB/SS/RB in various permutations; NC-17 with warnings: "Sirius and Snape are 16ish, Regulus 15, Incest, blowjobs, frottage, filthiness, bathroom!sex, the usual"; ~2,050 words) - "Sirius is convinced Regulus only has eyes for him until Snape comes along...or has Snape been there all along?"
* Like A Tea-Tray In the Sky by rinsbane (mosty gen, but has SS/anon and implied SS/RB, NC-17) - "Postwar. Glassblowing. Hopes. A touch of the absurd, the random, the whimsical. Regulus Black wants Occlumency lessons, Severus Snape needs money, and they both get more than they bargained for." RA

* Night Cap by nemesister (SS/RB; NC-17 with a warning for Regulus being 16; 1,834 words) - "Regulus visits Severus in his guest room to discuss the future and enjoy the present." // Sweet PWP, I like the dynamic between SS and RB in this one.
* No Place Like Home by Beth H. (SS/RB; PG-13; 3,460 words) - "A week end at Grimmauld Place sets in motion big changes for Severus." // Aww, they're like puppies in a box. DOOMED puppies. It's sweet and touching and insightful. Beth's take on Mrs. Black is amazing, the fic's worth reading for that alone. * Rebirth by thesnapelyone (SS/RB; NC-17, pictophilia kink, not-quite-PWP; 2,053 words) - "Snape’s disembodied voice, so much more smooth and sibilant when he wasn’t spitting venom, whispered in his ear, “I want to tear you apart.”" // Hot hot HOTTTT PWP with a super-charismatic Snape, sinister, fascinating. And did I meantion hot? It would've been good enough even as a PWP-only type of thing, but I think it goes far beyond that, while keeping the hot'n'dirty vibe PWPs typically have. It created similarities between them, and Severus is noticing, and remembering. Regulus can be good/RAB/an initial redemptive influence, and Remus, like his predecessor, inspires Severus to aid the inevitably ungrateful (Post-HBP) world."

* That Afterlife Thing by isiscolo (SS/SB, SS/RB; R; abandoned WIP, ~5,800 words) // I like how it's sort of funny and sad/tender at the same time. The main pairing here is SS/SB, but there is sweet SS/RB interaction. And yes, I know it's unfinished, needs some closure and possibly some polish, but you know what, it works for me. An open ending, if you will. And the final sentence is beautiful.

* The Whorcrux by ldybastet (SS/RB, implied SS/LM and LM/RB; NC-17 with warnings for crack!fic, "bad, bad pr0n with bad pr0n lingo", and HBP spoilers; 2,163 words) - "Regulus makes an unexpected appearance in Snape's office and Snape takes a look at his chocolate starfish." [Also available here (flocked).] // Intentionally bad, thoroughly gross, and often hilarious. Don't read if you're looking for plot, angst or characterization; do read if you feel like a good laugh and don't mind filthy, disgusting tongue-in-cheek pr0n parodies. Oh, and also? Best title ever.
* Thicker Than Water by fabricatedemons (RB, SS, [*not* SS/RB]; PG-13; 3,904 words) - Regulus comes to Snape for advice. // Well, it's not slash, but I'm including it anyway because it's sort of slashy if you squint, and because the interaction between Severus and Regulus is wonderful and spot on. I also like the little touches of humor, despite how serious the subject matter is.
* Things We Need [locked in light of deletegate2, access details here] by elfflame (SS/RB/RL; NC-17 with warnings for frottage and sex magic; 3,625 words) - "Severus wants Remus’s help regaining something he never really had." [Also available here at daily_deviant, but again, you have to be a member to view. An un-locked version will most likely be added here sooner or later.]
* This Masterpiece of Nature by anneline (mostly genfic with some SS/RB; rated R for bad language and adult situations, warning for one sexual situation between Severus and Regulus while both are still at Hogwarts so Snape is either 17 or 18 and Black 16 or 17; 5,983 words) - "A friend might well be reckoned the masterpiece of nature." // In one word, perfect. This fic will tug at your heart with that nostalgic pull. The writing's beautiful -almost poetry at times- and the characters are oddly... lovable. The author really managed to capture the *feel* of what she's writing about, those old times when you're young and then later and what it feels like to remember. She also captures the essence of the people she's describing, and quite effectively. There's one writing "trick" that I found charming, and that's the use of mannerisms and little interactions between Severus and the photographs he's dusting. I know it sounds lame when I say it like that, but trust me, it's awesome. And then there's the rest of it, which is also of the good. I love it when the "Junior Death League" (saw this in another fic and I love the term) discuss politics and philosophy. They're so passionate and pretentions and full of shit (Regulus in particular), it's *teenager-y* and plausible, and you can just feel disillusionment on its way and how much it's all going to hurt. For each fic I've tried to provide along with the title and author name the pairing(s), rating, warnings, and a short summary if given by the author (in double quotes). I recently started adding length information (word count, or in KBs). My own comments, if there are any, follow the double slashes (//). Fics are in English, unless otherwise noted (recently added some German fics!).
Note: Since this is a rare pairing, I prefer to be inclusive rather than exclusive. Therefore, A fic only has to have *some* SS/RB content to qualify, even if it's not the main pairing, is only implied or mentioned, etc. When I know SS/RB is a main pairing/focus of the fic, I will use green font to denote it (i.e., SS/RB). In other cases, you can see another pairing listed first as primary pairing, along with an indication such as "implied SS/RB", "mention of SS/RB" etc. next to the pairing information. The fic summary + my notes should have more details.

* An Eternity Spent Moving in Circles by corvidae9 (SS/RL, SS/RB as secondary pairing, past SB/RL; rated R; ~5,750 words) - "How we get to where we are from where we were." // Interesting structure, it serves the theme of the fic very well, though personally I find it somewhat distracting. I also like her(?) Regulus, and this take on Snape's motivations. And what a great way to end a story.
* And Think Some More by sholmes87/solanumdulcamar (SS/RB; NC-17; 2,853 words) - "Hoses, Spades, Scarecrows... What more do you need?" // Weird, kinky PWP type of thing.

* As Fast As He Can by summerborn (SS, RB, gen/not 'shippy, "Regulus is the 'main character' in this one, but Snape and the relationship between them both play a major role"; rated PG-13 for implied violence; 3,200 words) - "Ten scenes from Regulus Black's life over the span of ten years. When Sirius abandons him, Regulus seeks approval from another source, but he finds that the Death Eaters cannot give him what he wants."
* Backwards Down by pyreneeees (SS/RB; PG-13; 3,079 words) - "Everybody knows what happened to Regulus Black." // Fic in this calibre of quality doesn't come along every day. It transcends fanfic. Years from now, when I've moved on to another fandom (as I tend to do), or possibly out of fandom altogether, I believe I will still remember this fic and its impact on me. It's that good. ... In a series of vignettes starting with Regulus's death and going backwards to his childhood, the author explores Regulus's character and his relationships (with Snape and Sirius in particular), his awkwardness and his longing. The structure is perfect, the whole damn thing is perfect, and that last vignette? Just, wow. Don't let the two first vignettes deter you from reading the rest. It will hurt but it's worth it. I also like the little touches of humor, despite how serious the subject matter is.
* Things We Need [locked in light of deletegate2, access details here] by elfflame (SS/RB/RL; NC-17 with warnings for frottage and sex magic; 3,625 words) - "Severus wants Remus’s help regaining something he never really had." [Also available here at daily_deviant, but again, you have to be a member to view. An un-locked version will most likely be added here sooner or later.]
* This Masterpiece of Nature by anneline (mostly genfic with some SS/RB; rated R for bad language and adult situations, warning for one sexual situation between Severus and Regulus while both are still at Hogwarts so Snape is either 17 or 18 and Black 16 or 17; 5,983 words) - "A friend might well be reckoned the masterpiece of nature." // In one word, perfect. This fic will tug at your heart with that nostalgic pull. The writing's beautiful -almost poetry at times- and the characters are oddly... lovable. The author really managed to capture the *feel* of what she's writing about, those old times when you're young and then later and what it feels like to remember. She also captures the essence of the people she's describing, and quite effectively. There's one writing "trick" that I found charming, and that's the use of mannerisms and little interactions between Severus and the photographs he's dusting. I know it sounds lame when I say it like that, but trust me, it's awesome. And then there's the rest of it, which is also of the good. They're so passionate and pretentions and full of shit (Regulus in particular), it's *teenager-y* and plausible, and you can just feel disillusionment on its way and how much it's all going to hurt.
