[A → Action; 340 Brady Lane: Early Morning]

[There's a lot of things wrong with this morning. A lot of things wrong. For one, this isn't his bed. He knows this because he's had his bed for how long? Anyways, this isn't his bed. Second, last time he checked, he had some dashing and lovely scars to go with his whole vigilante image. Now how in the ( Read more... )

[ Sleeping next to the drone wasn't nearly as bad as sleeping by Reaver. Then again, it seems the two rarely spent a minute in the same house at the same time (and sometimes she would just crash outside on the porch or on the couch in the living room anyhow).

Meiling rolls over onto the newly-vacated spot, murmuring something about how warm it was and how it was too early and that she wasn't going to let him destroy the mansion.

--this is perfectly normal sleep talk. Hush. ]

[Well he feels like he needs to dress since he's up.]

You mean if there were more males in your world? I guess I find it hard to think that there aren't since I'm used to it. And, well, I'm male myself.

Right! It doesn't feel.. balanced? [ Shrug. ] I don't think someone's physical sex is that important, anyway. [ One braid done, on to the next. ] We rarely breed.

I guess there's a difference there. People seem to enjoy the pleasure of sex. [Laughs. It would be a lie that he doesn't enjoy it himself.] But people have shorter lives I guess, so population would drop otherwise.

[ She hasn't even really thought about it since she got here -- or some time before that. Meiling doesn't exactly have the best of luck in that field, or anything remotely near it.

--but something about what he says makes her nervous, recalling her conversation with Cain, and with a self-deprecating smile she looks over to the window. ] ...hmm, so you already figured it out about me.

[ She doesn't know that HE doesn't know, but she did drop some pretty big clues without thinking. The exclusive "we"; "the human village".

Whoops. ]

If you mean the not human part, you did say human village so I assumed you aren't from it. But that's not a problem. I know a lot of people who aren't human. It doesn't bother me at all. [If anything, he thinks it's pretty interesting.] It won't change how I think or treat you anyways. You're still a person so you deserve that respect.

[He slips a pair of pants and shirt on.] I find it interesting anyways.

[ Meiling gives him a surprised look, but she's still pleased with that. ] You must have come from a very unique background for a human, to think like that.

My world had a lot of super powered people that I grew around with you can say.

I mean, I dated an alien for awhile even. [He laughs a little.] And being different doesn't necessarily mean you're a bad person. It just means a different background. I'm all fine with that.

Ohh, an alien, really? From space and everything? [ Shouldn't sound so excited about the prospect, but she was! ]

Yeah. An alien. She came from a planet I never had heard before even. But she was very kind. [He laughs though. He was sure Kory would love to talk about her experiences on Earth.]

That's good. We had visitors in Gensokyo once from the moon, and the whole thing wasn't exactly what I'd call a good experience. [ Though she didn't have all the details, as she had to stay behind at the mansion and help make sure Flandre didn't, like, demolish the place while Remilia and Sakuya investigated. ] --but, that's no reason to judge everyone from the outside world, or from space!

Haha! Well, there was some trouble when she first arrived, but she ended up fitting in and enjoying her time with us. [Although she ended up returning after awhile.] But considering all the different people that I know, I don't think I mind meeting more. It's not like all people are suddenly hostile because their background differs.

Well no, but... Things are different here. [ There's that bit of a frown returning. She finishes messing with her hair and stands up, stretching her arms over her head. ] Mayfield has a way of trying to convince people to hurt each other. It's happened more than once before, and I've seen it corrupt some people who I never expected to fall for that kind of thing. [ Like Patchouli... Though she, at least, is resentful of her behavior. ]

Considering it's taken us from where we're from and stripped me of any scars I once had. I can believe that. I don't know much about this place so I'll be doing a lot of research to try and understand it.

But if it's any consolation, I'll make sure this place doesn't change or corrupt me. I have people to protect at home. I want to be able to do that here too.

If it's research you're after, you definitely want to talk to Miss Patchouli. Not only has she been here almost two years, but she's the smartest person I know! [ Perhaps a small bias, but it's sincere, coming from her. ]

[ She steps over to put a hand on his shoulder. It's not a threatening motion, but she does want to make sure she's clear about this. ] I'll be sure to keep you in line if you start acting strange. [ Just like she's had to do before.

Meiling then moves into the walk-in closet to get dressed, herself. Some dark green blouse with a white skirt, and flat shoes. All topped with her iconic green hat and engraved gold star. ]

Patchouli? I guess I'll ask. I'll ask other people too. It'll be safer and it can make certain facts more solid that way. I don't have to worry about as much falsified information if I can get a consensus.

[He gives her a determined smile.] I won't let this place bring me down. I've gone through a lot.

That's cute. [He's not used to clothes like that usually.]
