Sorry to hear about your loss. It seems from the tone she was important in your life. It seems that she'd had a good run and it was not long, painful and drawn out for everyone. I realise that sounds harsh now, but watching someone you love slowly have everything taken away from them and watching them see themselves lose everything they valued in life piece at a time is far more painful I assure you.
You can always have the memories of the wonderful times you spent with her though, to balance the sadness.
It doesnt sound Harsh at all that is exactly the way I viewed it. I remember watching my Grandfather and what he went through, it was like he died but his shell took 4 weeks to realise it. I am glad she went in peace and pain free.
As for the importance in my life I guess she was important to me, I didnt see her as much as I would have liked to and that is probably due to lazyness on my part, however she and my Grandfather were in England when I was born, they were there with us when we first came home, they used to get up and feed us in the middle of the night....and as you know I do like to eat so that was a big thing for me ;)
Other than that Grandma was just.....well Grandma I cant explain but I have a feeling you know what I mean.
I hope you are ok and getting happy babes ... I don't know what to say other than offer my ear if you need it ;) I'm so glad you got to say your goodbyes, she would have left knowing how much everyone loved her :)
Hey mate... I'm sorry to hear the news. Mum's mum left us a few months ago and while I had little contact with her it was still a shock to the system. Brought about emotions that one doesnt experience in many other situations.
I pray you're managing well and be sure to give us a call if you need a place relax and be distracted.
