Title: Passings Author: Obfusc8er Word Count: 100 Rating: G Warnings: Angst (Hey, it's me.) Written for hseas_challenge. Challenge Number: 1 - Film Interpretation Summary: Something is lost in the reach between worlds.
I love Jack trying to be heartless and seek revenge but to have his own heart 'rubbed raw' instead.
As painful as the truth was, he really could have done her some serious damage with a little creative encouragement, I think. I suspect the thought at least crossed his mind.
I felt so sorry for her in that scene; it's hard enough when anyone you know dies, but a parent is especially wrenching. And I liked that Jack was somber for the moment - that they all were, really, even Barbossa. Good explanation of how it could've happened that way.

That was a turning point for Elizabeth, her childhood gone forever, her illusions shattered.
Well done!

Agreed. One of the best-written scenes in the trilogy, IMO.

All he need do is give life to her delusion, and, like him, she'll become her own undoing.
Entire volumes said in that one line.
Nicely done!

There seems to be a lot unsaid and left between the lines in that scene (one of the reasons I like it). It was fun trying to fill in a bit.
Thanks for reading.

Yeah. She really took a steep emotional plummet there.
And I liked that Jack was somber for the moment - that they all were, really, even Barbossa.
Honor amongst thieves, if only for a few moments.
Thanks for reading.
