On Wednesday I had my audition for Warner Brothers for a role of Mundungus Fletcher in the newest Harry Potter film, and this morning I heard from the casting director. I was told that they liked what he saw and they asked me to come in again today for a call-back, so that sounds hopeful. We'll see how that goes. Besides that, I have another ( Read more... )

Woah.

How do I get an audition like that?

Film or stage or both?

My agent helped to hook me up with Harry Potter deal. As for the theater auditions, I send my resume and head shot out to everywhere I could.

Film. TV. Anything like that.

Agent. I need an agent! Of course! Is there an agent better than the others?

Have you any experience?

I'm sorry, I don't know if we've been introduced before. I'm Neil McLaughlin, and you are...?

[....after a mischievous pause]

Well, since you're a Tale, you should write to Perry. He's the best in the business.

A wee bit premature, but I'll take it where I can get it. Thank you.

I went on Google to look up information on the part I'm auditioning for - Mundungus Fletcher. Have you read the books?

Well, I believe call-backs deserve some form of congratulations.

One of my assistants use to rave about the books. If I can remember correctly, he's a drunk/thief/nut-case...Something along those lines...

Yes. The role is well suited for me, isn't it?

[Private to Amelia]

I just got back. [...] You can congratulate me for real.

I have always found that Shakespeare was over celebrated. Such a waste of time trying to understand the meanings of the words that he made up...

I can translate for you some time!

Oh that this too, too solid flesh would melt, or at
least that they would turn up the heat a little. To
think that it should come to this! My father but
two months dead, and my mother married to this
satyr. I recall the day they wed. It was a satyr-day.
Heaven and Earth, must I remember? My mother
has married my uncle, and turned me into my own
cousin. Frailty, thy name is woman. And woman,
thy name is Frailty. My name is Hamlet, and I'm
ashamed to meet the both of you.

Oh humor her, Perry. She wants to get her foot into the business. We Tales need to stick together and help one another. And she seems like a nice kid.

No. I told her to send us her resume and head shot, though. I gave her your work email.

Everybody got their start somewhere. Hell, I did the same sort of thing with Kilroy when I first met him as a lad taking my acting class in London, and look where he is now.

Ah yes, the old man who thinks a beautiful young woman would sleep with him. Not to mention the hinted possible homosexual relationship with Sir Toby. A wonderfully complex role.
