Sometime in the next week, Scott turns 3 (21). He's an adult dog!
For those of you who love him, some gift ideas: He loves peanut butter, bones, and meat. :) . . . and play time.

I feel bad because I skipped my workout today. I was, however, working on my novel, so I'll forgive and move on. I am moving on in a lot of ways. I might even date at some point.  I am still up in the air about the baby, though. Other than that, life is looking better. Hopefully the weather will also be nicer.

Looking for things I can control in my life, I decided to get back into shape. I've designed a fitness regimen and dietary plan to trim weight, build muscle and improve tone, and increase my cardiovascular endurance. I even started a training blog. It is nice to have goals and something to think about besides her or work.

With all of the turmoil in my life the last week and working, sleeping, and walking around like a zombie, I almost didn't notice the anniversary of my mom's passing. I guess I have felt like she has been gone much longer. Most visits the last couple years were painful and depressing as I watched my mom become less and less the person she had been. I had a pretty good little holiday. My nieces weren't the worst monsters in the world, and the family dinner was not as tense as it has been in the past. What I do is take a pretty friend into my heart and sometimes in my arms, and try to never let myself think of changing it into anything more. It is safer. It is easier.

 My neice Janna made me proud yesterday when she got mad at her dad and her little sister for making comments about her native friend. I liked her much more the last two days than the two before. I'm watching Grosse Point Blank again, and thinking of days long past. I graduated from high school almost 15 years ago. I had no one back then, no one to miss me, and I don't know if anyone ever wonders what happened to me. I haven't been back for years. Not for a 10 year reunion, not for any reason.
