SAMPLE JOURNAL IDEAS:
This list isn't the end-all-be-all. You can mix and match topics from IC and/or OOC, or write a completely original entry. It could even be the entry you plan to use for your first post if you are approved. Then you are already ahead of the game! These are just here to help you along and give you some ideas.
For IC Characters:
1) You just encountered your OOC self, but s/he ran away before you could do anything, saying only, "This world is ours!" Write an entry on this surreal experience, including what you plan to do.
2) Write an entry beginning with this phrase, "It has been a crazy day."
3) You think one of the OOC characters is evil. Write an entry explaining why you think this and/or what you are going to do about it.
For OOC Characters:
1) What is this crazy place?! Write a journal entry about what you plan to do (or who, for that matter) now that you're in Shin Makoku.
2) You want a truce with your IC self. Write him/her a letter apologizing for that terrible thing you did.
3) Write an entry beginning with this phrase: "They say he/she looks just like me, but I know I'm cuter."
SUBMITTING:
You can just comment on this screened post with your application!
But if that doesn't suit you for any reason, e-mail your application to stesha.mccue [at] gmail [dot] com.
DECISION MAKING PROCESS:
The journal entry is an indication to us of how you plan to play your character. Your journal entry should be between 100 and 1,000 words. If there are multiple people applying for an IC character, we’ll compare the journal entries and choose the one we feel is most in-character and well-written. If multiple people are going for an OOC character, we’ll compare the journals and choose the one we feel is the most creatively out-of-character. If we don't feel as though we got an accurate idea of your writing or your concept for the character we may contact you directly before making a decision.
RESPONSE:
You should receive a response within a week. If you’re accepted, congratulations! You will recieve further instructions for setting up your character and joining the game.
If your application was not accepted, please do not be discouraged! An explanation will be provided, and if possible, we can work things out. You may have simply been up against a lot of people wanting the same character or you were our eighth evil OOC concept of the day and we had to draw the line somewhere! This game is about fun and not accepting an application is most definitely not fun, and with so many great characters to choose from you should apply again!
