Note: Please don't link your app until it's complete and ready for review. Also, please comment in the Reserved page before submitting your app. (All apps are screened, so players attempting to reserve have no way of knowing if you've already app'd for a character they want, otherwise). When a reserve request and an app are posted around the same time, the finished app gets priority, but in the interest of peace, otherwise it's first-come first-served. OCs don't need to Reserve.

The following is essentially a guideline of what we expect in each portion of a basic character application. Please familiarize yourself with the FAQs before filling this out, however, as certain characters WILL have sections that need to be expanded upon, based on a number of variables (such as special equipment, character type, inclusion of pets/summon creatures, AU/OC status, etc).

PLAYER
NAME: Your name/alias, not the character's.
AGE: You must be sixteen or older to play. (Breaking this rule will get you banned.)
PREFERRED CONTACT METHOD: Email, AIM, MSN, YIM, private message, or another option, and your S/N or email address for it.
PERSONAL LJ: Your personal journal (optional).
LOCATION: Time zone or location, so others can know when to expect tags. Optional, but useful.
EXISTING CHARACTERS: If this is your second (or third, or fourth) character at Ompha, who else are you playing?
CHARACTER
THE BASICS
NAME: What is your character's full name? Nicknames, titles, alter-egos, aliases etc. all fall under this category.
CANON & TIMELINE: Where's your character from? Refers to both canon and what point in the story they're plucked from. Linking to a Wikipedia article, etc., pertaining to your character - or at least their series - would be great. For original-universe OCs, just write 'Original'. Please note what version of canon you're using - anime, manga, game, et cetera.
AGE: While smut logs are allowed, they're strictly limited to characters who are eighteen and over. While sexual activity can be implied for those over sixteen, it can only be written out for those over eighteen. Sounds strict, but we'd rather not get burned.
THE CHARACTER
APPEARANCE: Please provide at least one good, long paragraph.
PERSONALITY: General disposition, notable quirks, blatant and hidden motivations, etc all go here. Please provide at least three paragraphs. Useful personality traits may be re-stated in the Strengths/Skills/Abilities section below. Habits that can make life harder for the character can be re-stated in the Weaknesses/Limitations section.
HISTORY & WORLDBUILDING: Please give us as much context for your character as possible: their personal background, information about their world, how their world/story differs from canon (if apping an AU), etc. Head-canon is acceptable, but please keep it to a minimum if you're app'ing a Canon character. The more detail, the better. The more original your character and their world, the more you need to explain.
DIFFERENCES: Differences in timeline, alternate universes, alternate interpretations - if you're playing a character that's already present here, what makes yours different to the others?
THE DETAILS
STRENGTHS/SKILLS/ABILITIES: Minimum of three, but we'd prefer at least five. This may include pertinent traits used in the Personality section above. Any trait or skill that helped your character succeed in their original world, or may help them in Ompha, may be used.
LIMITATIONS: Again, we ask for a minimum of three, but we'd rather see at least five. This may include pertinent traits used in the Personality section above. Other skills that they lack that would make their life in Ompha harder (such as no outdoors survival skills) can be mentioned here, as well.
EQUIPMENT/PETS: Anything they're carrying with them. This includes weapons, clothing, pets, summon creatures, tools, medicine, vehicles, etc. Pets and summon creatures, in particular, should be clearly outlined, including their appearance, abilities, disposition, etc. Also note that pets and vehicles and powerful weapons MAY need to be altered for size and/or power. Please check the Applications FAQ for more info.
THE WRITING
SAMPLE - LOGS: Scenario: your character is wandering through Omphalotus (caves or Topside) and finds something that piques their interest. Be descriptive, and write at least four good-sized paragraphs.
SAMPLE - MESSAGE: A sample transmission sent on the mercury network. The setting can be any cave of your choosing. Please write at least three paragraphs.
