I'm intending to buy a pressure cooker. Does anyone have any advice/recommendations?

Today Chard and I tried to make Yorkshire Humbugs according to a recipe we found on the internet. Having borrowed my mum's sugar thermometer we set to work this evening on the grand scheme. So this weekend I found out that the family friend mentioned in a previous post have lost her fight against cancer and died. I am so sad. She was the most wonderful person who never did anyone wrong in her life. I couldn't happen to a least deserving person (I mean I'm sure everyone thinks that but she really did lead to most unselfish life I have ( Read more... )

I hadn't realised how much better the sun makes me feel. After 8 long months of depression I final feel like my soul is being uplifted. The mornings when I go to work are gorgeous. Its no longer dark when I leave to go home and the weekends are filled with the options of pleasent activites outside. *sigh* maybe I can finally be truly happy again.

Okay, so admittedly most people don't consider playing bridge to be a great evening out but yesterday was just magical. Matt and I along with 6 other University Bridge Club members went to London to play at the Oxford and Cambridge Club against 8 of their members. The place is like something out of a story book. We have exciting (very large) blue gloves to go into the -80C freezer with. Also it always looks like its snowing in there. White powder does fall from the top of it. Its kinda cool, my own little (that's an understatement) snow machine.

In other news my RNA extraction worked, yay! Now running a PCR. Fingers crossed.

So yeah I finally gave up on getting a job appropriate for my degree and applied for a temporary christmas job in various shops in town because I couldn't live off my benefits alone.
