Well, the museum job is over now, and I had a few days to play around. My mommy (michiko) took me to Himeji last night, and I rode the yakou bus to Narita. In about 3 hours I am going to meet with Takezawa from the Saitama internship, and we will stay in a hotel for the night. Trying to sum up what I've done in the past few days:
Sunday: helped the father and brother clean out the mizou (gutters) while the father trimmed is part of the mountain. People in the countryside normally do this around the last Sunday of May or the first Sunday of June. Before that, I met Asuka and talked with her for a while. Such a cute kid! ( Read more... ) -

I've been here over a week now, and so busy! I have been doing something every day. I know too many people in this small town. In a couple minutes, I'm going to call my 13-year-old friend, Asuka, and take her out for some okonomiyaki. I had a huge breakfast, though, so I don't know how much I'm going to be able to pack away.

Day 2
Welp, I got to Japan safely. It was a 15 hour plane ride (including the transfer from Dallas), plus it took me about 3 1/2 hours to get to Koudera from Kansai Airport. But I made it! At Himeji I ended up taking a taxi to Koudera which cost about 5000 yen but by that time I was so tired it didn`t matter to me. It took me all but two seconds to ( Read more... ) -

Staying up all night (Chapter 4)
So, I've been trying to stay up all night the past 4 nights to prepare myself for Japan's time zone. But I don't have chapters 1, 2, and 3 because um... it didn't work out so well. I had a great weekend with Tim. We got on the subject of video games, and started talking about Bionic Commando (ヒトラーの復活：TOP SECRET) so we started playing it and beat that, then played through Megaman (ロックマン）and Megaman 2, then I played through Kid Icarus(光神話 パルテナの鏡), and now I'm playing through Destiny of an Emperor (天地を食らう）in Japanese. I had a dream last night that I won the lottery with one of those scratch off things... like 400,000$.
