I just spoke with my boss today to see if I could get a week off in april without pay to go with Tim to Germany. She said technically I can take a week off without pay without her consent and she thinks I should go.. the only problem is we are pretty behind at work and if I leave it will cause us to get further behind. I could always work TONS of ( Read more... )

oh, baby, DO IT! i would set a reasonable goal, like saving at least half of your airfare between now and then, which you can work towards by working overtime at work (which solves the other half of your problem, being behind!). see if there is any work you can do from home so that not all of of your overtime will be spent away from tim. i think this is too awesome of an opportunity for you to pass up -- and won't you be able to stay with tim and won't his company be paying for the lodging? i mean, even if you spent the whole month of march working harder than normal, i think it would probably be worth it for a week of incomparable magic and adventure in germany with your husband! if you decide to do it, just MAKE YOURSELF set a point after which you will no longer stress out about the money, etc. like, after you have saved X dollars, you are not going to keep worrying about how much the trip will cost, the extra preparations, etc. because the experience is worth so much more than that, and as long as you are working you WILL ( ... )

I love the idea of saving X amount of money and then not stressing about it anymore after that. thanks for the pep talk hun.. we'll see how it goes. I'm waiting to see when tim's offical dates are that he's going then I have to see how much the ticket would be. **hugs**

I wish you and danny could come to germany too!

I would panic. *wink*

Seriously, though...there ought to be a way to expedite the process in getting your passport in time, perhaps through a travel agency. Might cost a little extra, but, hey, any chance to travel! I've been to Germany ( West Germany--before the Berlin Wall came down ) and it was quite lovely. I had a great time there, even though I was running around in fatigues most of the time.

I've got traveling on my mind, too. In fact...I should have some kind of announcement to make in a few weeks...

Oh! Go check out My Space if you're still doing that... I called myself "Lao Ba", which is Chinese for "Old Daddy". *grin*

Go! Life is about experiences. You will always have bills to pay, you might as well have some awesome memories to go along with them.
