It was the CHEESE. You didn't use the cheese - you somehow burnt peanut butter into a yellow cheese-like substance!

And yes - preheating is a good thing.

You say "a lot of cheese leaked out the sides..." but...that's hardly a lot of cheese - comparitively.

It seemed like a lot when it was leaking out and boiling, but maybe you're right.

Your cheese leakage is art. It's like the tips of the Star of David; just pretend your quesadillas are religious snacks.

Also, yes. Preheating is good. Non-preheating makes Teresa faceplam.

My cooking wouldn't really be my cooking if it didn't make normal people facepalm.

Preheating means you heat the thingy before ("pre") cooking. So you make it all le hot and THEN you put the quesadilla in the quesadilla maker. Or rather the tortillas-and-cheese.

Where DID your spatula go? Maybe it ran away because it was mad that you didn't know it was called a spatula until we told you?

PEANUT BUTTER QUESADILLAS YES. Only not with cheese. Use bananas instead. IT WILL BE FANTASTIC. I promise. >.>

Ah, so that is pre heating! Like prehistoric. And I will find my spatula and inform it that I am the master and it is my subject. I usually want to eat the bananas just like that, but I'll give that a shot!

Burnt cheese bits are almost the best part of a quesadilla. HA! I am funny. The best part of a quesadilla is, of course, all of it.

(But seriously, I love the burnt cheese bits (yum!) and I am very jealous of your nifty gadget. :3 )

Mmm, all of a quesadilla. The cheese was pretty good, true. But I liked the center part more than the burned-cheese part.

The only thing that made me facepalm was the fact that you bought a device that only makes ONE THING that you could have easily made in a skillet.

Alton Brown would fail you. ;p

Actually it was a Christmas present, I forgot to mention that. I'll try making a grilled cheese sandwich in a skillet, to emphasize my skillet-fu.

What would be more impressive would be making a grilled cheese sandwich in a quesadilla maker. >D
