I don't understand the big deal about bottled water, anyway. I think it tastes gross. Well, except for carbonated mineral water, which is relatively hard to find in the US. Did the article/source/whatever say anything about Crystal Geyser? That's the brand I buy.

It just talks about brands associated with Coca-Cola. I didn't see Crystal Geyser mentioned in the article.

Hmm. I examined a CG bottle yesterday, and the company's apparently based in San Francisco. It's probably naive, but that somehow gives me hope that they might be a responsible company. That and the fact that Trader Joe's sells their stuff.

Did you hear about the corporation that bought the rights to rain water in a third world country? The people living there weren't even allowed to drink THAT.

I wish I remembered the details...

There's a genetic engineering seed company that's trying to patent the genetic code to all the rice in the world.

Crazy. Just crazy.

Have you heard about these Terminator seeds? They're bred so that the plant doesn't produce any seeds, and the farmers have to buy more.

The bottled water thing is unnerving, but more unnerving to me is how lacking we are in the department of water conservation. The entire world is heating up and water sources are shrinking. We need to be doing more about that as well. I personally think Mother Nature's sending us a very stern message that we're gonna be dinosaurs. World has to balance itself somehow.
