hepatitis a - "gil, you're going to china without your hep a shot? ummm...that's not a good idea man. you should have gotten your shot like 6 months ago, but i guess if you got one this late it wouldn't hurt...you should still get it." that is pretty much a generalization of the various reactions i got to visiting china without getting my hepatitis

yeah, it probably means she had hep a... but it doesn't get carried over to you, unfortunately, which means you have the same vulnerability to hep a as the rest of us. the hep a warnings were probably from me and a load of other people, but before nikhil gets to comment here (heh heh) i may as well just say: go see a doctor when you get the chance. getting "sick" is usually bad enough, but getting sick in a foreign place is even worse. plus hep a can have its long term effects, where the effects are magnified when you don't do anything about it. of course, everyone's bodies are different, so maybe you will respond to it better, but maybe.... not?

if it was stomach flu, bronchitis, even molloscum, i'd let it slide for a while... but hep a? i would still see a doctor

I actually don't believe you had any symptoms. I also do not believe one word of that post was true. In fact, I believe it is more likely that you were sitting there looking at the LJ message window thinking "What should I write about? I know! All those guys at home who were worried for my health are chumps. I should write something and see if I get any 'I told you so' remarks. That'll show them for preaching to me about disease prevention."

This is what years of being lied to have done to our relationship. It has scarred it! Scarred like the imaginary scars on your imaginary hep A riddled liver.

u're paranoid about me "getting you" on one of my half-baked lies...well, it's not a lie...and plus, i'm not even sure if i ACTUALLY have hep a, i've just been exhibiting a number of Hep A symptoms, which might not actually mean anything...hell, i just found out an ice cream bar i enjoy here has pineapples in it - i'm terribly allergic to pineapples, and considering i've been practically drinking ice cream bars, it could very well be an allergic reaction...but what i was getting at was that in researching Hep A a bit, it really didn't seem that bad...and yeah, admittedly, i was waiting for the experts to chew me out...hahahaha not as a "look at those suckers...", but really to confirm or reject what i was reading on the net.

funny you should all just mention this but i was just asking the doctor about a hep A vaccination on monday. but then they're like you gotta buy it and keep it in your fridge until you wanna use it. it was kinda wierd. almost as if they'd let you inject it yourself
