Finally something worth talking about
I wasn't at all happy with the November series for Playelf, so I didn't really discuss it. I felt as though I were phoning it in, and found it hard to get inspired to do anything. But I was determined to get my five images a month done, and at least I did that much. Ok, the last two weren't bad, but they weren't great, either.

A little time leads to experimentation
So I had some time to play with this render - I'm actually all set until the end of the month. With a little time, I played with a bunch of new features in both Poser and Photoshop I'd never used before. I'm still trying to decide if I like the lighting style better, but overall, the postwork came out well.

Autocracy is fun!
In this image, Sable briefly explains where the Verdant Blades get their authority. My thought was that a monarchy with this kind of organization under its control had best be sparing in their use. Ah am a troo artiste!
So I've had this idea for a render in my head for a couple of weeks now. This is not something that happens often - normally, I mess around until something I like begins to take form. So I'm quickly finishing up the new Playelf image so I can tinker with the one I want.
I hope this doesn't really affect the quality of the render I'm doing... -
Non-negociable justice
So what happens when someone convicted of a crime flees the country? Assuming, of course, we're in a fantasy world where extradition doesn't happen. Do we let them get away with it? Not if we're the Verdant Blades, we don't.

October brings another issue of Playelf
Sometimes, the hardest thing to do is come up with article titles for the cover piece. I think in this case, I spent more hours writing these than I did working on the actual render (render times don't count). The theme for this month could also be a challenge - how much do I reveal about the mysterious Verdant Order?

October is coming
And that means a new issue of Playelf Magazine. One of the hardest things about trying to put out a monthly series of images is coming up with a theme.
