Well today we got 3 new students in class. 2 are from Thailand and 1 is from Czech.. now the interesting thing is, after we all introduced ourselves, we learned the alphabet and numbers... sheesh it only took the teacher almost 4 weeks for her to review that info so that I could learn it too!

I haven't had a period in over 7 months and although it was nice not having it, I still had the symptoms of getting it but just didn't get it.. until today.. for the first time in 7 monthhs. I am soo friggin' frustrated with school. First off we had a test today. It was on 29 or so clothing articles. I studied for 2 to 3 hours to try and get it ready  for this test. Just wanted to give you an update on school and how I am doing...
 School is going ok. I still feel very lost when the teacher is speaking to me or to the class as a whole. I am able to translate written words much easier and am doing well with sentence structure and gramatics. I know that my teacher wants to move me to section B soon, but ( Read more... )

Out of everyone that told me they would miss me if I left and moved to Sweden and promised to email me and /or call, the only two people in my life that have been consistent with this, no matter how busy their lives have gotten have been my Mom and my sister Christine. I got a 100% on my time telling test!  And with the dictation, I only mispelled 8 words out of two paragraphs.. however, I remembered most of the story she read outloud, because I had read it outloud the previous day and had practiced it again with Michael, so I knew it. I got my test back on the body parts today. I scored an 88%.. YAY ME! The teacher told me , that my test was one of the top 3 grades.. not bad considering I wasn't even there when they learned it and Tuesday was only my second day. School is very disappointing,  frustrating and overwhelming to say the least. Yesterday was awful and today not much better. I have been put in a class where people have been studying Swedish for almost a year. I just recieved a belated Christmas present from my sister,Christine, she sent me the calendar she makes every year of photos of my nephews and a 4 leaf clover, some books, american measuring spoons and measuring cups and decaf tea!  It may not sound like much, but it really made my day.

It's been a long time since I have been in this role.. the role of a student. For many many years I have been the teacher not the intentionally the student, although all the students I have helped over the past number of years, have taught me many many things.
