Chicago Pics - Part 3

Dec 20, 2009 21:56

Please don't read this post if you are hungry. It contains images of, mostly me, tucking into all things yummy! What's a visit to Chicago without treating yourself, right?

The pictures also include some of the more random and interesting things we stumbled upon during out visit.

It's the last part in my three part tour of Chicago. Enjoy!

Your welcome! I've enjoyed sharing my experiences with everyone. I hope I have inspired more than a few to put their travelling shoes on!

Lol, as soon as I saw the dress I remembered it, and how beautiful you looked in it!

WTF is the third picture that looks like headless men? That is so very creepy!
I suddenly have a craving for pizza. Looks fabulous!

It was not my intention to wear something so colourful to the picnic, but by that point, it was only one of a few clean items I had left!! :-) In hindsight though, given how hot that day was, it was the perfect attire.

Odd aren't they. The piece is called Agora and the only information I have on it is that they are cast iron moulds made in Poland. I agree, very creepy!

Hi Mel,

Loved touring my city with you. I've lived here almost eleven years and haven't seen half of what you posted, lol!

The food in Chicago is quite tasty, and that's why we were voted one of the fattest (in food content) cities in America. I think it's all the cold weather that makes us love our comfort food, lol!

Hugs and happy holidays to you and your hubby,

Mickie

I could probably say the same about my city. I guess we are never tourists in places we live.

hehe. I can definitely see why you would turn to comfort food when the winter hits. I honestly didn't think you got such warm weather. I must admit I would be quite depressed to go from such sunshine to freezing and snow for the winter. It's very extreme.

Hugs and happy holidays to you and your hubby,

Thank you. And to you and your family also.

More terrific pictures! The mint brownie - I don't think I could pass that up.

The moose sculpture must be by the same artist who did two kangaroos for us. They are hidden away in a courtyard, and I'll bet most Philadelphians don't know they exist. I should learn more about the artist.

The pictures of you opening the pizza box and taking the first bite are a hoot. A mini-documentry right there. FanSee

You have kangaroo sculptures? How very curious.

My boyfriend had the camera on continuous shooting from the moment I opened the box to my first bite. He took a ridiculous about of photos and I look absurd in all of them, but these were the best out of a very bad bunch!

I've thoroughly enjoyed all this pictures and I'm a bit homesick. And I really want Giordano's! The last time I visited I had my friend who was picking me up at the airport order one that we could pick up on the way from the airport. It was the first thing I ate after I landed. Pure heaven!

Mmmmm.... I can taste that pizza now. I would go back to Chicago for Giordano's it was just that good. Sadly we never got to Gino's so I will have to try that next trip.

I'm glad you enjoyed the pictures, but I'm sorry I made you homesick. Maybe you can plan a visit sometime soon. I think I hear a pizza calling your name.
