Whoa, my day is totally made.
So, my sister-in-law Karen just called. She wanted to thank Alex and me for making her son (James aged 2.5) a mix cd. Evidently James also had a message for Alex. When handed the phone James said, "I like David Bowie".
Wow. just wow. That's so awesome.
James now likes cats, dancing, and David Bowie. He's totally a cool kid.

Why do all of the fantasy heroines have long long hair?
Just a quick happy note to get the ball rolling. Alex and I are going to Dragon*con this year! This was one of my holiday presents this year, and I'm already excited.
What character should inspire a costume for me?

My last pilgrimage for beauty in 2008: The Driehaus Museum.
There are few images I can obtain for this post. None do justice to the museum I visited on the last day of 2008. It was the Gilded age home of the Nickerson family, and the strange showcase for their wealth, tastes, and fears, as well as a collector's vision of art from the same period.

I'm pretty lame. In booking my return flight, I compared prices for a few different days...AND THEN BOOKED THE WRONG DAY. Yep. I missed my flight. It is leaving from Louisville(2.5 hours from here) in about 10 minutes. I wouldn't have known if it wasn't for my father calling me asking about the confirmation call he recieved.
