I'm a big fan of Stephen King. I know at least half of his work is varying degrees of crappy but the other half is genuinely terrific (see "The Stand" vs. its red-headed stepchild "Cell"). So in my pointless effort to learn Norwegian, I bought a translated copy of the first Harry Potter book. Reading it has been fun, and easier than I anticipated most of the time--Norwegian just doesn't have as many words as English, so it's a bit repetitive.
