I've been feeling increasingly mentally unstable. Unlike when I was younger, though, the focus isn't mostly on my own life. It is, rather, a reaction to the world in general. Sometime in the mid-90's, we had an odd childrens' math game on our computer. It involved hedgehogs that made (what I believe to be) unintentionally sexual noises and ate worms. Does anyone know what the hell I'm talking about? I can't remember the title.

Thanks to my parents, folk music and its surrounding culture was a significant part of my youth. In particular, I remember group sing-alongs at Ferry Beach; around campfires and in the dining hall. The spirit of peace, unity, and social justice remains with me today. Thank you, Mary Travers, for your influence in my life.

Forgive my naivete. I didn't realize, at first, that when a conservative says that Ted Kennedy "would have gotten more done by now," they mean that he would have caved to their demands. Of this I am highly doubtful. I'm not sure if Nancy Reagan meant it that way or not, but I've been hearing it as such from other conservatives.

As I read of Michael Jackson's birthday and watch Ted Kennedy's funeral, I am reminded of how much good they both have done for the world, despite the controversy surrounding them. We must carry on their legacy of making the world a better place.
