Rich's friend "Brad the Beer Guy" is doing a tasting of Belgian beers at the Four Firkins tonight.  Rich is going straight from work so anyone else interested who might be able to give me a lift?

So, on Friday my Dad had a meeting with his oncologist to follow up on his most recent week in the hospital.  The news was shitty.  the cancer has taken over his liver and is causing it to shut down.  We are looking at weeks at most, given his current state I'm guessing that's optimistic.  My dad will likely be dead before the end of January ( Read more... )

My iPod appears to have run off with gypsies.  It's nowhere to be found.  The fact that it did this right before I had to make a four hour drive by myself was a particular insult.

We're okay.

We got our first egg yesterday! YAY! It's tiny, about half the size of a credit card. I think I might have to keep it (cleaned out) as a memory. yay!

I photographed it next to a Large organic free range egg and a quarter. It looks more petite in person.

Cole David Hoffman was born this evening and was a hefty nine pounds, no wonder he took all day!  He's healthy and fit though mom and dad are both exhausted, the new Grandparents are headed to the hospital to check in and I will have photos later.

It was two years ago that we almost lost Jill to an Ectopic pregnancy so Cole is truly a long-awaited
