[Peace Patrol Headquarters]

[Meeting time! Everyone come in, mingle, greet the newbies. Yuan's sitting at the front of the room, surrounded by more papers than usual, and looking...particularly grim? That seems strange, considering that they've won the big fight.

Haven't they? ...Maybe he's just tired.]

[Alan is just going to observe for a little while to get a feel of the place, taking a few sips of coffee here and there.]

Indeed, and so long as our youths are, guided in the right direction, it is possible. [A long shot yes but possible all the same.]

[An extremely long shot, what with media influences.] We've got a long way to go.

Humanity, sentient beings, always do. All we can do is take it slow, and hope for the best. [It's one of a number of reasons why he dislikes technology that isn't of a personnel nature.]

[He nods. That process is almost like dealing with grief.] Not just hope for the best - do our best.

[He nods as well.] Yes do our best in a world that would call us hopeful fools.

Hopeful fools, maybe. But definitely hopeful fools who accomplish something.

Yes, indeed, and those accomplishments are the ones that people will remember.

I hope so - if only so that they can follow my example.

That is always what we wish to occur, that our examples will be followed and what we know passed on to others. [Which was the only reason why he had consented to the stories.]

Have people followed yours? [Young as he might look, he's much older than even Alan.]

Yes, I would like to think so, to some extent. Mostly through fiction, but they have. [Yes and he knows that, which is why he has seen so many be inspired by Holmes, it was rather nice.]

Through fiction? [He may know of Sherlock Holmes and John Watson but that couldn't be more than a coincidence. Or so he thinks.]

[This is always the fun part for him, the build up.] Yes through fiction. Victorian, analytical genius detective, see's what others do not through sheer deduction and observation.

You wrote Sherlock Holmes? [His tone is disbelieving.]

[A laugh, but he shakes his head.] Mr. Bradley, I thought you more clever then that.
