Sorry about the long silence. It's been a harrowing day.

Virtual hugs before I catch a nap. I've had enough down-time up on the tower to contemplate how long I've let my hair grow. Of course, I've not been letting it grow anywhere near as long as yours.

It's not exactly a stylish buzz now. There's only so much you can do with a knife, after all. But it is short.

And I just found out the immediate family is fine. Turns out my faith in middle sis and bro-in-law's zombie-fu was not misplaced.

Jason and I are fine. He's been holding down the fort. It was harrowing at the hospital and at Parkland. I'll have to update when I get the chance.

Thankfully Chambana is safe now.

traded my truck keys for some downtime and a shot at a laptop. I'm fine (so far) the boys are fine and last I heard Wallaby was hunkered down in a hunting lodge near Green Bay with some of his old frat brothers. Haven't heard from Eldest Offspring, but I have to believe she's fine. I have to, 'cause she's smack in the heart of Chicago... *shudders*
