[The lobby coffee shop is somewhat peaceful. Though, Jo is trying to figure out her menu plan for the holiday and how to get Julia to not be so depressed over her own brother being a jerk. It's really not Jo

[after her amazing performance of Smelly Cat, Max is going to step down and grab herself a cup of coffee and chill with her friends. Feel free to come by and pay her compliments.

Or tell her she was terrible. There's no guarantee she'll believe you, though.]

[Max does not buy that for a second]

[Oh, hey, is that her coffee coming? That totally spares her from more of a response, and provides a good cue to change the subject! So she'll latch onto that. Once she gets her coffee, she'll sip on it in silence for a few long moments before finally speaking up again.]

Seems quiet for this time of day.

[shrugs as she leans back in the couch]

Some more people will make their way through, eventually.

[Yeah, and there's someone she really hope won't be one of them. But we're not going to talk about that.]

It just seems... strange, I guess.

Yes.

[She's just... looking for random crap to talk about. Rambling about nothing while she drinks coffee like her life depends on it. It's vastly preferable to anything else she can come up with right now.

[well, she's got her guitar, and ... she wings it]

[Well, now that the guitar's out, does she really have any other choice?]

[... At the very least, good or (probably, sorry) bad, this should distract her from her issues for the time being.]

[goes to reach for her guitar and starts plucking at the strings to find the right key]

[And that guitar plucking is a little... ear-piercing. (When was the last time Max tuned that thing, seriously?) But Julia, however, will just sit there and try to pretend like she isn't headed toward a migraine here. It's only the polite thing to do.]

[and there will be a song with events rhyming with names that the mun is too lazy to write, but it's par for the course with most of Max's songs]

[Don't blame the mun for being too lazy to write that. And the resulting reaction, of course, will also be customary. The small smile she gives at the end of that isn't to be polite so much as an expression of relief that it's over.]

[... Can they put alcohol in this coffee now?]
