[The lobby coffee shop is somewhat peaceful. Though, Jo is trying to figure out her menu plan for the holiday and how to get Julia to not be so depressed over her own brother being a jerk. It's really not Jo

[after her amazing performance of Smelly Cat, Max is going to step down and grab herself a cup of coffee and chill with her friends. Feel free to come by and pay her compliments.

[SIGH. That was really the... absolute last thing she wanted to talk about. She sat through that song just to not have to talk about it.

She's quiet for a while, sipping idly on her coffee. Until she eventually runs out.]

I don't know.

You will. He's your lobster.

[Yeah, that metaphor is totally lost on her. She looks up at Max over the rim of her coffee cup with an eyebrow slightly raised.]

My... what?

Lobsters mate for life. If we could watch them under the ocean, you would probably see them walking along the bottom of the ocean, holding their little lobster claws.

[flashes her a grin]

Gwaine is your lobster.

[Even if the metaphor may still be lost on her, it's... touching, in a way. Or, at the very least, it causes her to stop and think about something. With both hands still around her mug, she gently places it back on the table, her gaze following the motion.]

Do you really think so?

[it's just instinct. and if Max is good at anything, it's trusting her instincts.]

[At that, she falls silent for a long time, staring idly at her now empty coffee cup. Like she's thinking something over, something she's turned over in her head countless times over the past few days. She's obviously hesitant to just spit it out, but eventually she does.]

So should I give him another chance?

[takes a breath as she inches closer, linking her arm in Julia's]

Do you want to? Like, deep deep deep down, underneath all the badness.

[Though she lets her friend come closer, she avoids her eyes at all costs. People can read you more easily that way, right? It makes her uncomfortable to be such an open book. Normally, she can hold it all together like a pro, but this week? This week she's on the verge of cracking...

A quiet breath.]

Then I think you should do it. You'll be happier that way.

[She'll come up to hug her friend after the performance.]

So how are things going with Gwaine and Julia?

[huntersdaughter]

[Jo shrugs. Julia is her best friend and Gwaine is her brother. It's really difficult to be in the middle of all of this.]

Gwaine is miserable, Julia is upset -- I'm not sure how it's going to pan out but they're both going to be at Thanksgiving. So we'll see.
