Update on Cocoa
as much as her healing seems so very slow to me.....Dr Holden is so very happy with her progress. Cocoa has gone from only feeling her medial toe to feeling two medial toes. She is also putting her foot down more....sometimes knuckling (on soft surfaces) but more the correct way. We came home tired (all of us) and sore (two of us) with new ( Read more... ) -
Off to see the terrorist
been two weeks since our last visit down south and we are off again to visit with Dr H at all care vet. Taking Munchie with us this time so Cocoa won't be so bored on the trip. I am hoping she is still improving. I guess we will find out -
Another Cocoa trip down south
so it has been 10 days since Dr B freed Cocoa's sciatic nerve from all the scar tissue. Since then I have been doing range of motion PT on her 5 times a day. Today we head back down to VCA AllCare to meet with the vet in charge of the physical therapy section and see what our next steps will be in her PT. Cocoa's journey
to getting better will continue on Jan 4th with me taking her down to Fountain Valley for a pre-op meeting with the ortho specialist. She will then have her surgery the next day to explore the sciatic nerve and hopefully free it from the scar tissue so she can start using her leg again. positive thoughts that this will be the thing needed. if not, ( Read more... ) -
Cocoa
So on Thursday she had another appt with the ortho rehab specialist from LA. He isn't very happy with how the leg is recovering. Yes, it has dropped down a hole lot but she is still not using it. She only uses it to hold herself up if I place it down correctly and lift her other hind leg. When she attempts to place it down it is always toes under. ( Read more... ) -
Vacation
I seriously need a vacation where I wake up all on my own, not to a dog licking my face or shaking their heads which makes their tags on the collar rattled or to my wife being licked in the face or to a dog with a deep bark or or or. getting older sort of sucks. my hands hurt, my feet hurt, my right hip is being a killer. I do believe (self diagnosis here) I have arthritis. oh well...life will go on. Mr Sparky takes care of the back and the peripheral neuropathy, Ibuprofen takes care of the rest ( Read more... ) -

today
I start eating healthier, which means my wife does too. I start exercising....even if it is a walk around the block at a turtles pace. I pull out the WII fit and start using it again. I crank up my SCS so I don't hurt as much, and I drink water instead of soda. I promise this to my evil twin.
