Also going to go out and see my family, making up for the fact that I totally missed my grandpa's 92nd birthday on Monday. (I think that means no movie night, DS. We need to get together for lunch again...that seems to work out better.)

My students rock.
While I'm a little biased, this is the best, most inspiring graduation speech I have ever heard. Re-reading it now almost makes me cry. It's a little long, but perfect if you're trying to procrastinate a little at home or at work. Or if you want a little grrl power motivational speech.

I lj, therefore I rant
At 2:04 I get a email saying a big 2 o'clock meeting was cancelled. I was already across campus at said meeting location. The woman who set the meeting up was an rsvp nazi. If you're going to be so controlling, give me more than (-)4 minutes notice that you're changing things. -

Have you ever been to a conference and the presenter just really annoyed you? Last May I was in New York with hundreds of other higher ed career counselors and company recruiters and was really excited about going to this presentation by a guy who specalizes in international job searches. So, one of the nice things about recently dropping a bunch of money to get the husband a motorcycle that he loves (other than watching him giddly ride it), is that it turned out to mean I got to pick out a nice present for myself, too.

So, while watching all of the Super Tuesday action (including this hi-larious little story about confused Texans showing up at the polls even though they don't actually vote until March 4--"But they kept talking about all the elections happening today!"), I became rather confused about the superdelegates.
