Tomorrow, Tuesday September 14th, is my birthday. I'm gonna be thirty*mumble* years old. And all I had to do was ride this planet 'round the sun for a while.
Gifts will be selfishly appreciated; well-wishes are, of course, quite welcome.

Given an event that happens, say, 1 out of every 50 times, how many attempts must take place 'til the odds are 50% on it happening? How about, say, 99%?
Obviously, with one attempt, the chance is 2% -- how about after that, though?
