I just finished rooting all my camping gear out of the back of my truck, where it's slumbered peacefully since my backpacking trip last June. It's amazing how listening to Les Mis on the drive home can help put things in perspective a little. It's been a rough week at work, and this coming week's looking to be rougher yet. Many have expressed regret that President Elect Obama's grandmother didn't live to see the man she raised win this election - and that is indeed a tragedy.

But on a personal level, I'm bummed Russell Compton didn't get to see it.

There are days when it all comes together, and I re-remember how lucky I am. It's the cool autumn afternoons, watching the staff shine as they lead their last activities of the day, knowing I have just completed the last schedule for the last school of the season -- I have it good. I love it here.
