I love Fred Meyer! I miss Fred Meyer.

And as far as the freeway goes I've still not actually driven on the freeway except once at 3am going to the airport and there was no one else on the road. I don't blame you for letting husband drive, I know I do!

Now that I think about it my very 1st adventure out on my own in the Portland area was much less successful. I remember Dan and I getting in an argument and in a desperate attempt to clear my head I impulsively grabbed my keys and purse and left. The trip ended with me having to humble myself, swallow my pride, call Dan and confess that I was hopelessly lost and needed him to tell me how to get back home.

I loved your post! I so relate to your feelings. When you move every 1.5 years, driving is an adventure!

I remember the first time I had to drive on the freeway in San Diego... I thought for sure I was going to die! I hate that stress... but believe it or not, you do eventually get used to it (although I have to admit it took me over a year!

God bless you as you get aclimated to a new city! I pray you will learn to love it!

What a funny post! You're a good storyteller. I felt like I was right there with you, enjoying the sun, excited to see Fred Meyer. :)

Good job getting out there and learning your way around...not an easy task I am sure. I think you're doing better than I would be at that point.

Need to get yourself a GPS system for your car. We have one and it's great! I like Fred Meyer. I love that they have a place for the kids to play while you shop.
