Things are going okay around here. Demolition is almost finished except for pulling out the floor in the downstairs bathroom. The walls are down, the old doorway is framed in, recessed lighting is installed, and the sheetrock is going up in the kitchen. So we are remodeling our kitchen this summer. Demolition is scheduled to start on Monday, so this week I've been clearing out all the kitchen cabinets and packing things away in boxes to go into storage. My oldest daughter is leaving today to spend the summer in Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina. She will be doing a summer internship with the Sarajevo Open Center as part of her graduate program in International Development. I'm still amazed sometimes that my little girl, from our little town, has been able to do so many amazing things. We tease ( Read more... ) -

Why in the world does canned cat food smell SO BAD?! My kitty is now 16 years old and in the beginning stages of kidney failure, so her vet has told me that she needs to eat canned food now, rather than the dry cat food she's eaten for most of her life. We've had to experiment with multiple brands, flavors, and textures, but this is what we've ( Read more... ) -

First official day of summer break!!! Got up early, went for a nice long walk, made a yummy spinach tomato omelet, and am contemplating what to do the rest of the day. I'm thinking a trip to Hobby Lobby! -
