The Hobbit
We bought The Hobbit DVD on Tuesday but didn't get around to watching it till tonight. I love it so much, not least because we can turn on the subtitles and understand the dialogue better. We are at the part where Bilbo meets Gollum. Gollum is actually kind of cute when he's all eager to play the riddle game... "Is it scruuuumptious?"

Why is it so hard to find a bra that fits? I just went and got fitted for a new sports bra. That part was easy enough. The sales lady was very helpful; she measured me and it turns out I need to go down a size in band size since I've lost 18 lbs (!). So then I went to Belk to find a couple of regular, every day bras. Friday night musings...
My husband and I have had a laaaaaaazzzzzyyyy evening. Which has been nice. But it got me thinking about our wide variety of interests as far as TV shows. This evening, we've watched TiVo'ed episodes of White Collar, the season 3 finale of Downton Abbey, House Hunters International on HGTV, and now a Duck Dynasty mini-marathon on A&E. Snow Day!
Actually, it's not really a snow day, but an ice day. We had some snow yesterday, followed by freezing rain and sleet, with ice overnight. The school district called school off early, most likely because one of our district school buses was involved in an accident after school yesterday afternoon. I'm fascinated by Jack the Ripper. BBC America is gearing up for a new show tonight called "Ripper Street" by showing a program claiming that a man named Frederick Deeming was actually Jack. It's pretty cool; they've been testing one if the victim's shawls and are actually doing DNA testing on the stamps from the famous Ripper letters.

Saw "The Hobbit" again today. I love it so much! I can't wait to own the movie so I can watch it over and over. The details are so perfect! I noticed today that when Gandalf, Tthorin, and Bilbo are talking with Elrond in one scene, on the floor above you can see the back of the statue which holds the shards of Narsil. How's that for details?

Today is the first day since Monday that I put in my contact lenses, put on makeup, and wore pants without an elastic waistband. I have been so LAZY! But goodness, how nice it's been to just relax! And I still have another week off!

Merry Christmas, friends! Here in Arkansas we've been blessed with the first white Christmas in at least 23 years. We have at least 6 inches, and it's still falling. It's a beautiful sight!

The last few months have been... Well, a lot of things. Stressful, busy, hectic, tiring, sad. I've had no time to do much of anything except work. I don't think I can even describe how awful it's all been.
This was the first time in over 20 years that I didn't spend thanksgiving with my mother, and we won't be together for Christmas either. Her ( Read more... ) -

Finished my third Half Marathon yesterday with my best time to date: 2:49:47! And I didn't even cry at the end!
