Well, that was a much different version of Momotaro then I've heard, but I think it is very sweet! It was adorable how the story came around full circle! :D

I wasn't sure where this was going at first but then I realized that all the little moments of description were building to make the ending all the more poignant. A wonderful, thoughtful read.

I didn't want it to seem too obvious, so I'm glad it all built up to the end. :) Thanks!

I really love this. The whole thing is tender and touching. I like how you don't come right out and explain what's what's wrong with Mary. The end is perfect. Really, excellent job!

I was trying to be all manner of obscure about it. ;) And I'm glad you liked the ending, I thought it was kind of corny. :P

Thank you for reading!

(P.S. Your icon is gorgeous.)

I didn't think it was corny at all. Even if it was, I'm a sentimental fool...I love corny. ;)

And thank you! :)

This is very poignant. I am not familiar with Japanese fairy tales at all. This transcends that ignorance. Very touching. Good luck!

I wanted to write it in a way that wouldn't depend on the reader having any knowledge of the actual story. Looks like it worked! I'm glad you liked it.

Thank you!

Aw!!! That made me tear up. I don't know why, probably cuz I've heard a lot of infertility stories (real life stories) from my family so it hits close to home, maybe cuz i'm pmsing and extremely emotional, maybe I'm just hopeless, maybe all of the above. It was awesome though, I like it. Sweet, simple, to the point. I love how he has the baby to take care of. I also love that he holds her through all of it til she dies (sorry, switched what she i was talking about mid sentence).
