Sorry to hear that you have an ear infection and the virus. I usually don't get sick, but I was having a miserable time with my general allergies-mostly producing mucus and irritating my throat. Still, nothing as bad as a virus or other infection. Hope that you get well soon.
I do get paid sick time, but only take an hour here or there for doctor visits. I can't recall the last time I called in due to actual illness. Our office is at minimum staffing levels due to budget constraints, so work regularly backs up. I also have specific duties that no one else in the office does, so if I'm out that work doesn't get done at all. General duties fall to my assigned back up person, so that means that he has to do his job and as much of mine as possible. We have to call in every day that we are out for unscheduled leave and when we return to work, have to get a supervisor to approve the use of sick hours. Calling in is no picnic either-our folks don't answer phones until their start time-7:55 or 8:00 AM.
(nods) I guess I was lucky the one time I had a job like that. It was only one day of the week that I had those special duties (being the hub around which ALL work happened, so I liked joking that I was the 'unofficial Den Mother every Thursday', because if ANYONE wanted to know about anything going on, they tended to ask me. That includes everyone from the headmanager down to the lowest ranked person working there. They knew that if I =didn't= know the answer, I'd know whom to ask and would get back to them with that answer

That's one thing I like about my job-I don't have to justify my use of time. As long as the work is done, they really don't care. I am responsible for reviewing all incoming Civil and Domestic new case filings in our county superior court, verifying that the data on the documents matches the data input into the computer by the clerk who filed the document. I also receive all problem documents that have defects-filed in wrong court, name doesn't match the case number, no signature or file date, etc. I also administer the local component of the Arizona Process Server program, processing license applications, performing background checks, administering and grading the written examination and receiving all complaints against process servers in the county. I am responsible for maintaining certain registries and making reports to the Administrative Office of Courts. I also log all responsive pleadings assigned and maintain the judge assignment and case number assignment books

See, that's one of the reasons I like being a cashier: I show up, do my job and go home. Starts when I get there, ends when I leave. I've worked the jobs where one does the work of two or three before myself, and felt frustrated by that sort of thing. I'm much better with customers than management that uses no logic.
i had this happen.. you should (if you havent already) ask the pharmacy if there is a different ear drop in the 4 category, if there is then have them call the doctor to change the script....
my migraine meds, which are not covered, are in the OUCH price range, and there isnt any substtitute.. but my cough medicine was 30 bucks but there is a near relative that was 4 at target.
i will add you to my healing prayer candle if you like
