Second one, definitely. The minute emotions are involved, it's more detrimental than just physical shagging with no romantic involvment.

I can't vote on this. Circumstances apply, and there are no circumstances surrounding those two options to make it possible to decide which is worse. If nothing ever happens between the two in Option 2, then it's not cheating...no matter their romantic feelings towards one another. In fact, it's noble that they never follow through. However, if those two are doing everything BUT having sex (ie going on romantic getaways, spending more time with each other than with the people they're SUPPOSED to be with, etc) then it's bordering on cheating, if not outright cheating, and would be "worse" than sex with the prositute because it's long-term and emotionally damanging to all involved
