That was awesome.I agree with general consensus -- somehow Rowling managed to tie things off in a satisfying way. Now I'm just sad that the series is done.

I'm going to have to read through the whole set again at some point, too.

it was tied off almost TOO well... "here's a nice little bow for your package"

but see, after three horrible joss endings (if you even count firefly as an ending)... i was kinda happy to see that bow. much better than "we're all going to die, oh look there's no more episodes." ;)

Well, the epilogue did have a bit of the hit-you-over-the-head-with-a-hammer-to-make-sure-you-realize-the-series-is-over feel to it. And the last couple chapters felt a bit crammed with explanation to me as all the loose ends get tied up at last.

On the other hand, if she hadn't done that I'd be having weird neurotic twitches probably what with the wandering about unresolved bits and knowing that there's no more Harry Potter books showing up to resolve them. So on the whole, I think the bow was necessary to prevent mass fan psychosis...

Yeah, I guess. That (the epilogue) was the thing I was most unsatisfied with, though, simply because it didn't really add anything that you couldn't have figured out/assumed (basically anyone could have written it). But we probably would be driving ourselves crazy otherwise ;-)
