it's not everyone - well it seems to be in this particular camp but it's not everyone industry wide.
We have no girls on the tour with us. This is the first tour I've been out on that there's not been girls working with us. I guess maybe since there's no one to "check" them being assholes it's in full affect.
I don't know- just really doesn't sit well with me.
Sad part even our stage manager is part of it...
I am lucky in the sense the my crew chief shares my views on the whole thing.

trust me on this-they do some foul stuff. and they do their best to keep girls from touring with them as well. on occasion they'll have one or two, but they're the types of girls that ignore it.

i know not all crews are like that, as i have some musician friends that are totally the opposite on tour, but they're rare, few and far between, and tend to be older/more educated.

It is sad and disgusting, you know I was always one of the "guys" while I was on the road. Hell, I was in charge of handing out the pussy passes. It was sick when my (a few) friends told me what they did with random whores-usually a couple in a night. But in retrospect, groupies disgust me also-a lot of girls that for some reason think fucking band/crew members/managers makes them special. Not realizing there isn't anything special and all they are willingly doing is a big reason a percentage (i agree w/you it's not all bands/performers by far but there's a lot) of men look at women this way. That's what pisses me off, they're degrading themselves and most brag about it while giving decent girls the cliche that girls that go to concert think bands are something special. In a way, when the guys would laugh about them I couldn't feel sorry for them in the least. lol, this week proves to me girls have it rough;p You are a decent guy and that's rare....just my two cents;x

I am proud of you for not being like them too. Stripping people of their humanity can be easy in that situation, and seeing past that to what it means for and about yourself is something that takes insight and self respect that many do not possess. Your insight and self respect make you a very sexy and desirable partner. *hugs*

You should be proud of that, however, I must put my two cents in too. (I'm good at that). Watching this kind of thing from the standpoint as the spouse of a band member, I watch what some of these women do. No, it isn't right that crew members treat women badly, but in the same token some of these women are looking for just that. I have witnessed woman aproaching my husband while we were standing together, arms around eachother, and openly propose to take him home with them. A lot of these women know exactly what they are in for and they want it, get danmed demanding of it sometimes too, then get pissy if they are turned down. It is sad really.

I give you your kudos Peter, you deserve them for being a nice guy, most women really like nice guys. Just remember, while yes, your crewmembers may be jerks, the women they may be dealing with are just as bad.

Sorry (steps off soapbox) this subject can get touchie with me.
