God, at work they have stacks upon stacks of glossy hardcover Neil Gaiman books. I even saw a couple of copies of Good Omens. Books are friggin' everywhere, and I have no idea what they do with them all. I know they keep exactly one copy of each book they represent in the little library downstairs for cataloguing purposes, but what about the rest? ( Read more... ) -
Super Happy Lucky Double Intern Power Hour!!!
I had my first day at the internship today. I'm not sure how to feel about it. We got our beds on Thursday. Mine was broken, of course. I have a regular bed, but I can't loft it until I get replacement parts. At least I'm not sleeping on the floor anymore. Once it's five feet off the ground, I can get that loveseat futon I saw the other day and put it underneath. I can also stuff the bookshelf under and finally have somewhere ( Read more... ) -

Went grocery shopping today and cooked a real meal. Chicken stew over white rice. Even after I ate there was enough left over to feed a family of four. I don't know how to cook small portions. At least this way I won't have to cook dinner for a couple of days. Preparing a meal is a real hassle when you don't actually have any counterspace. I was ( Read more... ) -

I GOT THE INTERNSHIP. Mr. M called me and talked and talked about stuff he'd already talked about and tried to make it sound like I'd beat out two hundred other people for the position. I got an email from the place at which I interviewed. It tells me I am an OMGFINALIST!!!! for the internship. I'm not sure just how many people interviewed for this thing, but I was under the impression that it wasn't that many. Oh well. They let me know next week. ~Bought $80 worth of comics and comic-related paraphernalia (I left my Batman bank at home, but now I have a tiny Soviet Batman, complete with flappy-eared furry hat, to keep my company with his grimace)

Ugh I had to get up at 6 a.m. today to drop my parents off at the airport. I have to finish my packing today (I just started yesterday night), and then I have to get up at 6 again tomorrow to drive myself to the airport. I'm not looking forward to all this at all. -
