But we picked up some treats at the New Season's and headed out to Chapman elementary for the annual see the swifts. The Rose City Garden Railway society does this show/ tour at Father's day most years. For the bargain price of ten dollars, you get a guide to all the yards. Can you make all of them in one day? Not with small children. But it's worth it to even see a few. Some are more about the rails. Others have a true collaboration of train addict and amazing

When I visited Sylvia beach hotel once before, my hip was hurting. I did not enjoy the many stairs or the shore. So, for my birthday, we did a little re-do. And it was lovely. All of it! Life is good.
Since we had already taken a big trip this spring .....we go small. Tacoma had gardens we had not seen and we always just breeze through town on our way to various ferries. Saturday morning we drive to Federal Way and take in the Species Rhodie garden and the Pacific Bonsai Museum. Very lovely both of them. The bonsai is free, too!
My annual "check on mom" trip. She owns a tiny beach cabin now in Franklin county Florida and we spend the week exploring. We use the new Island View park several times for its lovely swings by the water. We shop in Carabelle and in Apalachicola. Mom drives us to Alligator point and we explore the lovely Bald Point State park. We enjoy the Gulf
