A lot of daycare policy is set by state law, so their hands may be tied. Hopefully she will be fine and it's just a cold.

Well, if that is the case, then I guess it makes sense. Bureaucracies often lack common sense.

My MIL has joked in the past that if she calls us from prison it's because she killed a bureaucrat.

Ugh...I so feel your pain! Our dc is the same way. I realize that many of their policies are determined by the state, but a lot of things are just interpretation. Caroline has been sent home so many times for "diarrhea", when actually she is just prone to having soft stools. One time we had her cleared by the Ped (no elevated CBC's, no temp, nothing) and they refused to take her back. It sucks that 17 y/o's interpretation of a diaper trumps actual medical advice given by a Dr. I found out later they had been giving her juice which she is not at all accustomed to having. DH has been tempted to remove her from that facility on several occasions but I truly it would be the same everywhere.

I hope it's nothing and they're able to clear it up with a good round of decongestants.
