To check your gas pipe after hooking it up, do NOT use a match to look for a leak as comical as the result may be to others. Instead, put liquid soap onto the connection and look to see if it bubbles.

Yup, I know that trick. Use a bit of bubble solution. If things suddenly start to look like the Lawrence Welk Show, TURN OFF THE GAS. :)
