Went to the Chinese New Year parade in town yesterday with Rob's parents.  Much fun and colour.  It's the Year of the Rat, so hopefully this means a year of good fortune for this rodent ( Read more... )

Hehe, I need to learn from you, I've gone the other way and learnt to block it all out and just not hear it :-)

Was Phantom of the Opera any good? I've been considering getting/hiring it eventually but wasn't sure if that version was worth it or not.

I am much better at blocking things out but this was one of those things you couldn't really ignore. They were only a couple of rows behind us and they were settling in for a bit chat.

I like the movie version of PotO. I picked up a dvd copy cheap at (in)Sanity after New Year. It has lovely romantic gothic costumes and sets worth seeing. I must admit, I don't mind an ALW musical mehself.

Hey Feebz - yeah, Birch Carroll & Coyle have been doing the seat allocation thing for several months now. They usually ask whether you want to be at the front, in the middle or up the back though, or at least they're doing that here in Brisbane.

Mind you, I try to avoid BCC if at all possible. I'd rather go to the independents and pick my own seat, not to mention pay a hell of a lot less to get in. I tell you what, I was really annoyed that when I went to Indooroopilly BCC recently, my discount card had expired and they wouldn't give me a new one because this time around they were only distributing them via random mail drop. They certainly won't be seeing much of me now...

Heh. That's sucks about only randomly allocating discount cards.

And, yeah, we normally don't go to BCC because they are expensive, understaffed and full of noisy teenagers. We only go there when we really want to see a movie and it's not showing at the independent cinemas. It's a bit less convenient for us to get to the independent cinema in Sydney than in Brisbane too.
