Will nitrle/latex gloves protect from nitric acid? I have some 75% (still fumes in air) that I'll cut 2 water to 1 acid to clean the dag plates with. I need dexterity, so the bulkier chem gloves don't work so well. Also, will the diluted mix react with scotchbrite pads?

Figured out what was contaminating my plates. I was doing the silver plating next to the iodine boxes. There is enough fume leakage that it would dull the copper . I have moved the boxes to a better ventilated spot.

On clearance at JoAnn's I misread it, and acted upon it.

so a hotdog on naan bread with rooster sauce and bbq.

Well, I did a quick and dirty polish, silvering, and etc. of a 4x5 copper plate for doing larger dags today. It turned into a recognizable image. I did a contact print from a positive that gives me consistent results. I need a little for the daguerreotypes. It makes the plates much more sensitive.
I wonder if I could use pool Bromine tablets. Anyone know how free it is in that stuff?
