Could anybody tell me what level Rachmaninoff's Prelude in C Sharp Minor (op. 3 no. 2) is?  I'm working on other pieces for my ATCL at the moment, but I really like this piece and I'm wondering if I might be able to include it in my program.  I'm really bad at judging grade levels of pieces higher than around grade 2.  :S  I'm learning it either ( Read more... )

Do any of you have a composer who, while you enjoy listening to their music, just seem to have trouble deriving the same enjoyment from playing it? For me, that composer is Beethoven. One of my professors showed me this youtube video about music majors....it's priceless and satirizes correctly everything about "bad" music majors. I go to a university with a small music department...so yeah. I can appreciate this. I hope no one takes offense!

I'm looking for a Clara Schumann piece for solo piano. Does anyone have recommendations? I'm really only familiar with her piano trio, but I figure there have got to be other beautiful works of hers out there that I just have yet to discover. Any and all suggestions would be appreciated!
