Happy Samhain
Rumi’s poem “Love Dogs” is haunting me this morning… the Commune’s newest resident-and our direct neighbor-has taken to leaving his dog in a cage (at 6 am) while he goes off to work. Currently Dingbat (yes, that is the poor one’s name) is incessantly “howling for his master”. And no Rumi, I don’t think I’d give anything to be like him.

Sun finally, after all the cold and rain; sitting at the picnic table in the main commune yard, a black cat joins me, and the warmth of this spot increases.

Plans in the Void
So it is Thursday, and as we're trying to keep as much as possible to our "normal" schedule for the sake of the toddler (and for us, to be honest), it's my Mommy's Morning Off. An Interesting End to the Summer
AT LONG LAST, the kid is having his first real nap in 5 days; the washpile is finally halfway through; there is no one about to chat and no mold for me to scrub. Yes…. It must be the Wednesday after Mold Trauma Day!

Equinox is always one of those sneak-up surprise days for me.
...awww, who am I kidding? They all are, lately--alla them holidays.
