Making women undergo an ultrasound before abortion
I know this is happening in the US and not here, but I'm utterly appalled. Early stage ultrasounds don't involve a bit of goo and a scanner placed externally on the belly, they are transvaginal. Wondering whether I can reject a trial from my review for being insultingly derogatory to women! The study is of psychotherapy for depressed women of low socio-economic status and describes the participants in this way …

Annoying things about working or - let’s be honest - people
People who put the kettle on, leave a mug next to it, possibly with a tea bag or coffee granules in it, and then don’t come back for ages. Actually I think they conceal themselves nearby for 5 minutes watching me wonder what to do and then walk back in just as I’m stealing “their” water.

Things that are annoying me at work today, bah humbug
Force feeding of cake. I know it’s Christmas. And cake is nice (ditto chocolates, and possibly mince pies) but it really stops being so when everyone insists on bringing it into the office, putting it in the kitchen, bringing it along to every single meeting, and to coffee, in the two weeks before Christmas. A bit of ranting around religion versus secularism
I’m not religious myself, but I do respect the fact that other people are. I think they are perfectly entitled to hold opinions that are different to mine (even if I might think that those ideas have absolutely no basis for belief whatsoever), so long as they are not doing or advocating harm as a result of the opinions they hold. Paris Hilton's British Best friend
I have not watched this and have no intention of ever doing so. Normally, I can quite comfortably ignore stuff on telly that sounds like absolute rubbish, but the mere existence of this programme in my TV guide makes me angry.
