I got a new MacBook (a black one) the other day to replace my old PowerBook G4. I named it Badb Catha. With a few exceptions, I've named the machines I use professionally after stuff from the Celtic pantheon. I finally got a new PDA, which I am posting this journal entry with. It's an HP iPaq hx2495. I decided it isn't any worse than a Palm, and likely to be more stable than my Tungsten T5 was, so...

And I can run Minimo, which is Firefox (more or less) for the Pocket PC. Yay!

My PowerBook G4 died a few days ago. Well, it didn't die, but the hard disk sure as hell did. I left it at work one day, and when I came in, the disk was thrashing. Being unusable, I power cycled it, and then it hung on boot. Another power cycle and I got the little folder/question mark icon that signifies you don't currently have an operating ( Read more... )

Tiberius made a new friend the night before last. It's a kitty that has taken up residence on our back patio. I had thought if he actually got close to a cat, he'd eat it, but instead he just kind of danced around and then licked. The first week of August, we went to Chattanooga. While we were there, we visited the sculpture park, the Tennessee Aquarium, took a ride on an incline railway, saw Rock City, and Chickamauga Military Park.
