I think that right hand side driving was first, but the British went to the left side to be different from the French. Granted, this is just what I was told by a friend in Newcastle, so I could be off. More countries drive on the right hand side. The UK, Ireland, Australia and Japan don't. Not sure which others don't either.

But I hate cars and driving, so don't trust me on this.

I really want to see The Corpse Bride as well. It's next week, right?

Japan? Really? I thought it was just the current and former British colonies that drive on the left. With the exception of us and Canada, of course.

Thanks. That answer seems so... disappointing. I was hoping it was some sort of petty international grudge match! *g*

We're too old to sleep late? God, I hope not! I just got out of bed at 10am, and I still haven't made it to the kitchen for breakfast. BiL needs to chill. (Or he's just jealous of your ability to sleep late.)

Sleep as late as you want. Feh on him.

And I think The Corpse Bride opened in NYC, LA, etc. this weekend (because the local papers all had reviews - highly postitive, in case you were worried) and opens wide next weekend.

I'm about the same age as you and I can sleep way later if I'm allowed. I have to get up much earlier for work but if I can I will happily sleep to 12 noon.

I liked Threshold too, though I haven't quite finished watching it. Quite creepy in the good way and I am interested both by the aliens and the characters. I fastforwarded thrugh the ads so I didn't see the Serenity trailer, but I will say that I've seen one elsewhere that I thought really didn't do the film many favours. I've got Firefly issues myself in that I didn't like some of the characters very much - specifically the two characters they are pushing in the ads - so I'm not exactly an unbiased observer.

Well, even though I'm predisposed to say the movie will suck, that wasn't even what I meant. I truly meant that the trailer I saw on television sucked - and sucked badly.

Threshold was actually pretty good! All of the ensemble characters seemed to gel together quickly, and I like all three of the scientist guys. (Of course, how could I not like Data and Peter Dinklage - they're fabulous!)

The one I saw wasn't that good either. But I think that it was hard for me to judge because it had the two character I liked the least on the show in it. But even allowing for that, the trailer looked a bit wonky to me. I'm not really sure what they're trying to sell me.

I loved Peter Dinklage in The Station Agent and yay for Data! I definately be watching next week.
