Today was productive. I patched massive holes that the builders seemed to think were necessary to attach bathroom lights to the wall in preparation for painting the bathroom tomorrow. Hopefully I will also find and install a new lamp and towel rack(s ( Read more... ) -

Sit, stay, heel
My little Carmel dog came down with a urinary tract infection. It wasn't hard to figure out. She wanted out to urinate about every 5-30 minutes from 11 pm-8 am. She was taken to the vet yesterday morning and her diagnosis was confirmed. Unfortunately there is no pyridium for dogs. One year ago I had a request to let my hair return to its natural color. It has taken a year for it to return completely to the ends but now that it has I have to say that I HATE it! I got the job at the University of Washington! I interviewed almost exactly a month ago and they finally decided that they want me. I am so excited. It has been a long time since I took care of really ity bitty premmies. I am going to find a book and start reviewing so that when I start I will not look like some kind of a newbie ( Read more... ) -
Just like butter
The other day I posted about how thrilled I was to complete Silvertaine's quilt top. I have been saving a wool batting that I bought from a local sheep farmer for her quilt. Today I decided that I had the energy to sandwich and pin baste the quilt. (Sandwich= top+batting+backing, Pin Baste=taking safety pins and pinning the layers of the quilt ( Read more... ) -
Its done!
The quilt that would not end is finally done. Or maybe I should just say that the top is done since I still need to quilt it. But here is the best shot I can get of it. And yes, it is taped to the wall so that the wind would not whip it about.

Of course its not perfect
For three years, off and on, I have been working on Silvertaine's hand pieced/hand quilted quilt. Just when I thought that I was almost done I discovered that the top section and the bottom section don't match in the middle.
